BARSTOW – A 28-year-old Barstow man was arrested after residents returned to their home after only an hour out to find him inside their home.

On Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at around 4:41 p.m. officers were dispatched to a home in the 600 block of Nancy Street for a burglary in progress. The female reporting party told dispatchers that she and her husband just got home and noticed that their television and Xbox were missing from their home. As her husband checked the rest of their home, the suspect entered the home through the back door. He confronted the suspect and attempted to stall him while police officers were en route. She told them that her husband went back into the home and she could hear an argument causing her to believe that the suspect was still inside.

When the officers got to the home, the male victim was at the front door and told the officers that the suspect was still inside the home. As they entered the home, the suspect, later identified as Edward Breedlove, fled out the back door. The officer chased the suspect and took him into custody in an alley behind the home.

Officers cleared the home for any additional suspects and Breedlove was positively identified by the victims as the person who was inside their home. Breedlove was learned to have an outstanding felony warrant.

Breedlove was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Burglary and violation of his Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS). He is being held without bail.
