Barstow Man Arrested for Molesting Several Foster Children

BARSTOW, Ca. – A Barstow man was arrested for selling marijuana to juveniles and the possession of a stolen firearm last week.

Barstow Police received multiple reports of drug dealing throughout the day and night from a home located at 650 Candlelight Street in the City of Barstow. They began an investigation on January 16, 2020. The resident was identified as 33-year-old Joshua Martinez, who was a convicted felon. Through investigation evidence was found to substantiate the reports of drugs being sold to juveniles.

Based on the evidence collected during the investigation, a search warrant was granted. On Thursday, January 23, 2020, at around 9:15 a.m. detectives served the search warrant at the home of Martinez. During the search over a pound of marijuana was found. In addition, $5343 in cash, packaging materials, gang paraphernalia, and a loaded handgun were found in Martinez’ bedroom.

The gun was determined to be stolen from Las Vegas, NV. Further investigation revealed that Martinez is a convicted felon and prohibited from owning or possessing any firearms.

Detective Helms placed Joshua Martinez under arrest and collected the marijuana and stolen handgun as evidence. The U.S. currency was also seized as proceeds from unlawful drug sales. Martinez was arrested for selling marijuana to minors, street terrorism, and felon in possession of a firearm.
