BARSTOW – A 47-year-old Barstow man was convicted on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, of Lewd Acts with a Child and authorities believe that there may be more victims.
Wilfred Lawrence Marquez, 47, of Barstow, was accused of sexually abusing a female victim that was under the age of 14, on August 7, 2017. Deputies responded to the location of the female juvenile to collect additional information. Through investigation, they were able to gather evidence to corroborate the accusations. The deputy learned that there was a second female juvenile victim. On August 9, 2017, Marquez was interviewed at the Barstow Station. The reports were sent to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office for review. The District Attorney’s office filed charges against Marquez and on May 2, 2018, Marquez was convicted of Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a Child.
