BARSTOW – The suspects who are responsible for the shooting of three Barstow men on Thursday night remain unidentified authorities said.
Witnesses reported that just before midnight the three men were standing in front of the apartment complex in the 2100 block of Borrego Drive when a white sedan approached them. As they drove past, the occupants fired several shots and fled the area. Several witnessed the incident, and 911 calls flooded in to report the shooting with three injured as a result. When officers from the Barstow Station arrived they located the three men suffering from gunshot wounds. The officers provided aid to the victims, identified as Toney Hodge, 26, Donte Purvis, 31, and Lemark Rachal 34, as they waited for paramedics to arrive.
Paramedics from the Barstow Fire Protection District arrived, treated the victims and transported the victims to Barstow Community Hospital in preparation to be airlifted to a trauma center for additional treatment. As part of the investigation, interviews were completed, and evidence was collected by Barstow Police Detectives and Evidence Technicians. “The Detectives and the evidence technicians located a vehicle parked on Borrego Drive with multiple bullet holes,” Barstow Police officials said. “The Detectives also located fired cartridge casings, fired bullet projectiles, and additional evidence of the shooting on the street and sidewalk near the parked vehicle that sustained the bullet damage.”
