BARSTOW – One Barstow woman was arrested and a second is wanted in connection with a strong-arm robbery at a Barstow Food 4 Less store.
On Tuesday, June 26, 2017, at around 11:35 a.m., authorities responded to the store, located in the 500 block of East Virginia Way for the report of a robbery. The reporting party reported that two black women walked into the store, picked up a pack of diapers and left running from the store without paying. Two employees from the store followed the two women out of the store and eventually approached them to ask for the diapers back. The suspects began punching both employees, injuring one. The employees were able to retrieve the stolen diapers and the two women left in a gold Chevy Tahoe with “Elite” paper plates. Both suspects were described as being in their 20’s, 5’6”, 110 pounds, and both were wearing dark-colored clothes.
The store surveillance captured the incident and officers did an area check but they were unable to locate the suspects or suspect vehicle. On Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at around 2:50 p.m. a detective was conducting a follow-up investigation and located the suspect vehicle at a motel in the 900 block of East Main Street. He made contact with the vehicle owner who said that she was at the store with friends, Jameka Hatfield, 22, and Danelly Jackson,25, but she was not involved. The detective made contact with Hartfield at the hotel and subsequently arrested her. She was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Robbery.
A Probable Cause Declaration was issued for the arrest of Jackson and is on file with the Barstow Police Department.
