SILVERWOOD LAKE – The body of a male adult was located at Silverwood Lake at around 3:12 p.m. Friday afternoon.
The body, located by the Sheriff’s dive team, according to authorities is that of a man who drowned nearly a month ago on Saturday, August 20, 2016, while boating and swimming with friends.
That Saturday afternoon, according to park officials, the three went out on a boat and began swimming, when they looked up they realized that the boat was drifting away causing them to swim back. Only two of the three swimmers made it back to the boat leading them to call for assistance.
Park lifeguards were first to arrive just moments after the report but later called for the assistance of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s dive team. After several days of searching, they were still unable to locate the body of the man.
As of Saturday morning, the identity of the man has not been released.
