DESERT HOT SPRINGS – A Desert Hot Springs man who was out on felony probation was arrested on Saturday for the possession of weapons authorities said. At around 4:00 p.m. officers from the Desert Hot Springs Police Department were on routine patrol when they conducted a stop in the 66100 block of 3rd Street in Desert Hot Springs.
The officer made contact with the occupants of the vehicle, finding that two females had warrants for their arrest. The third occupant, a male identified as Richard Winters, 24, was found to be on felony probation. The officer search Winters and located a handgun and a brass knuckle knife in his possession. He was arrested and booked into the Banning Jail for being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of brass knuckles, and violation of probation. The females were also arrested and booked on unrelated warrants.
