PHELAN – A 43-year-old Phelan man was arrested on Wednesday morning after a search warrant led to the recovery of thirty-two dogs, all in need of veterinary care.
The search warrant was a result of a long-term investigation into an illegal breeding and sales operation at the home located in the 3600 block of Daisy Lane. The thirty-two dogs consisted of 17 puppies and 15 adult dogs authorities said.
Both Rancho Cucamonga and San Bernardino County Animal Control responded to the home to provide assistance to the sick dogs. Rick Kenny was at the home at the time of the search and was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. It is unclear if Rick Kenny will be facing charges as a result of the illegal breeding and sale operation or if there are any other suspects involved.
