LOS ANGELES – An elderly man was arrested and faces voluntary manslaughter for killing his wife during a Valentine’s Day dispute. Carven Nathaniel Kendrick, a 92-year-old veteran shot his 72-year-old wife, Jenell Kendrick during the dispute at their home in the 1700 block of West 60th Street.
Authorities said that the dispute was believed to have to do with a telephone call, but that is all they would disclose. The verbal altercation became physical when Jenell Kendrick began hitting her husband her cane. Carven Kendrick grabbed a shotgun from the couple’s bedroom and shot her in the living room of their home.
Kendrick faces up to 21 years in prison if convicted as charged.
