A homeless High Desert woman has been missing since mid-June and no one has reported seeing or hearing from her since.
Brittany Nicole Rice’s mother said that it is unlike her daughter not contact her at least twice a month. She said that her daughter has a drug problem, is homeless, and frequents the areas of Hesperia, Victorville, Apple Valley, and Barstow. Brittany used Facebook to keep in touch with family but after going missing, there is now no way to post to her wall and several recent posts have been deleted.
“I have not heard from her since June 12th I am very worried I was told last night that she was hiding from someone in the High Desert that wished to do her harm,” her mother, Dianne Du Vall said in a July 26th Facebook post.
Du Vall said that she believed that she was driving her 1998 F150 after her friend went to jail. She reported the truck stolen and also filed a missing person report.
On Wednesday, August 7, 2019, Du Vall said that she received information from a woman named Regina Chavez saying that Brittany had overdosed in the desert and was there in the truck. On Thursday morning, a photo was posted on Facebook of a truck abandoned near Shadow Mountain near the Silver Lakes area. The truck still had the license plate, but the carpet was torn out and the seats had been changed. Du Vall said that the woman (Regina Chavez) who told her about Brittany overdosing will no longer talk with her. She also said that the woman’s friend, Autumn Mendez has also stopped talking to her.
Brittany Nicole Rice was nowhere near the truck and Du Vall also has no information about where Brittany is. “Terrell Sibly says he bought the truck from “Luis Chavez” in Apple Valley,” Du Vall said on a Facebook post. “The helicopters are flying over the desert looking for my daughter.”
Brittany is 27-year-old, 5’2” tall, and around 110-115 pounds. Her mother is asking for anyone who knows anything to contact her at 951-742-2790.
