APPLE VALLEY – A 28-year-old husband and father of four lost his life in an Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) accident at the Stoddard Valley Off- Highway vehicle area on Sunday.
At around 7:00 p.m. the California Highway Patrol and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to a call reporting the collision. When they arrived, they learned that the rider, Luis Angel “Chito” Ignacio, of South Gate was riding in a sand rail off-road vehicle when he struck a sand berm at a high rate of speed. The impact caused the sand rail to lose control, and overturn causing Ignacio, who was unrestrained and unhelmeted to be ejected from the vehicle.
Ignacio was pronounced deceased at 7:35 p.m. Ignacio is leaving behind his wife and four young daughters. The family has set up a go fund me account to assist with the immediate needs of his children and for funeral expenses.
