LA QUINTA – A 34-year-old Coachella man was arrested after being stopped during a vehicle code stop at the intersection of Eisenhower Street and Montezuma Avenue on Tuesday. At around 3:25 p.m. when Oscar Valenzuela was stopped he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a loaded firearm and speed loader with ammunition, officials said.
Valenzuela was arrested and booked into the Indio jail for the being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine with a loaded firearm, and the possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation is ongoing, anyone with information is urged to contact Officer DiMaggio at the Thermal Sheriff Station at 760-863-8990.
