VICTORVILLE – A 57-year-old Victorville woman lost her life after being struck by two vehicles on the morning of Wednesday, August 1, 2018.
At around 1:19 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Station and emergency medical personnel responded to the area of D Street (Highway 18) and Sixth Street in the City of Victorville for a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. When they arrived they found Betina Ann Peschel lying in the roadway and two vehicles nearby. Through investigation including witness interviews, deputies were able to determine that a gray Chevy Impala was traveling west on D Street and struck Peschel, who was a pedestrian in the roadway. A westbound traveling silver Dodge Ram truck also struck Peschel.
Peschel suffered major injuries and died at the scene. The drivers were not injured and remained at the scene for the investigation. D Street was closed in both directions until around 11:00 a.m. for the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
