VICTORVILLE – San Bernardino County firefighters responded to a suspicious commercial structure fire in the area of Culley Court and Culley Street in the City of Victorville. Initial reports came in at around 7:20 p.m. reporting the fire at an unoccupied building near the closed 4 D College.
When the first arriving fire engine arrived less than 5 minutes following the reports they located the fire on the exterior stairwell landing on the back of the unoccupied two-story commercial structure.The fire was quickly knocked down, but according to fire officials the fire had extended through the rear doors into the structure.
Firefighters forced entry into the structure to stop the spread of the fire in the interior of the building. Investigators were called to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire. A total of 21 San Bernardino County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene to fight the fire. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
Witnesses indicated that a black man who was approximately 5’10” was responsible for the fire. The male suspect was last seen wearing gray sweatpants and a black hooded sweatshirt.
