Four Arrested for Victorville Smoke Shop Robbery

VICTORVILLE, Ca. – Three suspects from Victorville and one suspect from Apple Valley were arrested for an armed robbery at a Victorville smoke shop last week.

On January 8, 2020, at around 6:40 p.m. three male suspects went into Franky’s Smoke Shop located at the 15500 block of Village Drive in the City of Victorville and demanded money from the employees. The three suspects held the victims at gunpoint, stole money and fled the location. Deputies arrived and conducted an area search but did not locate the suspects.

The investigation continued and additional information was obtained that led authorities to the identity of the suspects. They also learned that there was a getaway driver, the fourth suspect involved. On Tuesday, January 14, 2020, Dean Sutherland, Kevin Vasquez, Michael Gonzalez, and a 16-year old male juvenile were arrested for robbery.

Deputies recovered a handgun, ammunition, a bb gun, and clothing that were linked to the robbery. Dean Sutherland, 20, of Victorville, Kevin Vasquez, 22, of Victorville, and Gonzalez, 21, of Apple Valley, were booked at High Desert Detention Center. The 16-year-old male juvenile from Victorville was booked at High Desert Juvenile Detention Center.
