LENWOOD – Three were arrested after Barstow station deputies responded to a home regarding an outstanding warrant for a probation violation.
On Thursday, May 24, 2018, at around 8:40 p.m. deputies contacted Leroy Nelson, 48, of Lenwood, at his home in the 35400 block of Oak Road. Nelson was located at the home and was detained. A search of his home was conducted, during which time two off-highway vehicles learned to be stolen out of Newberry Springs in 2016 and the City of Hesperia in 2017 were located. A motorcycle with an altered Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) was recovered and impounded as a result of the investigation. Also located in the garage of the home was a firearm and several boxes of ammunition. Nelson was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, ammunition, and being in possession of the stolen vehicles.
While at the home deputies contacted Anthony Riggs, 40, of Barstow, and Shana Orili, 47, of Corona, both determined to have outstanding warrants. Nelson, Riggs, and Orili were all booked at the Barstow Jail.
