RIVERSIDE – A head-on traffic collision on University Avenue and Fairmount Boulevard caused injury to a total of ten patients Tuesday afternoon. The three vehicle traffic collision was reported at 4:13 p.m. with the initial report indicating that a person was trapped. When Riverside City Fire Department officials arrived on scene they located the three vehicles, all with moderate damage.
Of the ten patients, one was critical and the other nine suffered only minor injuries. The patients were transported to a local hospital for the treatment of injuries. Two of the patients refused medical transport. The collision shut down westbound University Avenue traffic from Market Street to Fairmount Boulevard.
