BARSTOW – Four were arrested in Barstow on Friday, October 14, 2016, after a search warrant was served at a home located only feet from Cameron Elementary School.
At around 10:15 a.m. Barstow Police served the search warrant at a residence located at 920 Carson Street in the City of Barstow. During the execution of the warrant, police made contact with Quentral Maston, 24, Carnell Avery, 26, Eugene Whitmore, 23, and Monique Martin, 18. All four were detained as the police searched the residence.
According to the news release, the search yielded illicit drugs, with packaging consistent with the sale of narcotics. The drugs located on the property included methamphetamine, cocaine, ecstasy, and marijuana. Also found at the location was a digital scale, ammunition, and a .45 caliber pistol. The firearm was found to be stolen during a 2014 residential burglary in the City of Victorville. Several other items that are suspected to be taken during recent burglaries were located within the home including a projector taken at a recent Central High School burglary.
All items were taken by the Barstow Police Department and are being held as possible evidence. Maston, Whitmore Avery, and Martin were all booked into the Barstow Jail for possession of narcotics for sale while armed, opening and maintaining a drug house, selling narcotics within 1000’ of a school, possession of cocaine for sale, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy. In addition to those charges Avery, who is a convicted felon was also booked for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and convicted felon in possession of ammunition.
