HESPERIA – A 28-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for the suspected rape of a woman who he met at a local bar on Friday night. The victim and her friends met the suspect, who was later identified as Ricardo Enrique Gonzalez while they were out drinking. The friends went back to Gonzalez’ home in the 18000 block of Sequoia Street in the City of Hesperia.
While at the home, the victim went to sleep in another room while her friends and the Gonzalez continued to hang out in another room. The suspect excused himself to shower, but after a while, the friends went to check on the victim. When they entered the room they witnessed Gonzalez having sex with their unconscious friend. They grabbed their friend, left the home and reported the incident at around 5:15 a.m. on Saturday.
Deputies began investigating leading to a search warrant of the Gonzalez’ home and a warrant for his arrest. Evidence was obtained during the search of both the suspect and the home. On Sunday, at around 1:17 a.m. the suspect was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for rape with an unconscious victim. He is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
