HESPERIA – The suspect involved in the robbery and brutal attack of an elderly couple in September has been identified and arrested officials said.
On Saturday, September 23, 2017, at around 4:50 a.m. deputies were dispatched to a home in the 18000 block of Pitache Street in the City of Hesperia for the report of the robbery. Deputies learned that the suspect entered the home of the elderly couple as they were sleeping, the sound woke the elderly man who confronted the suspect. The suspect brutally attacked the man, and when his wife came to see what was happening, she too was assaulted. The suspect fled from the home on foot and although there was an extensive area search, including the assistance of a Sheriff’s K-9, the suspect was not located.
The victim was transported to the hospital where they were treated for injuries and later released. The investigation continued and detectives learned that Tyryck Aggers, 19, of Hesperia, had gone to the same home prior to the incident seeking work. He was identified as the possible suspect and if not the suspect, a person of interest. The suspect was located and authorities served a search warrant. During the search, items stolen from the home were located. Aggers was arrested on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, and was booked into the High Desert Detention Center.
