HESPERIA, Ca. – A 54-year-old Hesperia man lost his life in a single-vehicle traffic collision on Sunday night.
Authorities said that Alvaro Ovalle was found ejected from his vehicle after receiving a call reporting the traffic collision near I and Buckthorn Avenues in the City of Hesperia at around 9:18 p.m. The black Toyota 4-Runner was blocking the southbound lane of I Avenue north of Buckthorn Avenue. Ovalle was unresponsive and was rushed to Desert Valley Hospital where they attempted to sustain his life. Ovalle was unable to be revived and was pronounced dead at the hospital
The investigation into the collision revealed that Orvalle was driving southbound on I Avenue when for reasons that remain under investigation, his vehicle left the roadway and collided with a dirt berm causing it to overturn. The north and southbound lanes of I Avenue were closed from Aspen Street to Buckthorn Avenue until approximately 4:00 AM while investigators processed the scene and collected evidence.
At this time, alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the collision.
The collision remains under investigation and any witnesses are asked to contact Deputy S. LaFond or Deputy T. Lamson from the Hesperia Station.
