HESPERIA – Two were injured after a vehicle slammed into a SUV causing it to overturn Saturday afternoon. At around 3:04 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2017, a male driver in a Pontiac Torrent was driving eastbound on Main Street approaching Oakwood Avenue. Just as the Pontiac approached the intersection, a Honda Accord was driving southbound on Oakwood Avenue attempting to cross Main Street and failed to stop at the posted stop sign. The Honda t-boned the Pontiac causing it to overturn.
The Honda came to a in a dirt area on the southeast corner of Main Street and Oakwood Avenue, while the Pontiac landed on its roof in the eastbound #2 lane of Main Street. The owners of Magic Auto & Truck Sales, located at 14721 Main Street, where the Pontiac landed captured Facebook Live video which included video surveillance footage that captured the collision as it happened.
The driver of the Pontiac, according to witnesses at the scene walked was able to walk into the ambulance with a neck brace and abrasions to his head. The female passenger was also transported in the ambulance, but was taken on a stretcher, also with visible injuries to her head. The driver of the Honda, a woman, suffered no injuries as a result of the collision. The toddler was also in the Honda restrained in a car seat suffered no injuries as a result of the collision. The woman and child left with a friend or family member after being interviewed by deputies at the scene.
