HESPERIA – A 54-year-old Hesperia woman was arrested for assault on a male victim who she accused of cheating on her.
On Sunday, October 14, 2018, at around 9:53 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 8000 block of Madera Avenue for a domestic disturbance call. When they arrived they learned that Patricia Gilbert and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation. “Gilbert became angry when the victim would not give her information, so she grabbed a 3-foot piece of wood and struck the victim approximately 5 times in the arm and back,” said Hesperia Sheriff’s Station Spokesman Edgar Moran. “Gilbert then chased the victim and threw a red brick at him which hit him in the arm causing a small laceration. Gilbert also threw a padlock which hit the victim in the leg.”
Gilbert was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center and was later transferred to the West Valley Detention Center for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Gilbert is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. Meanwhile, she is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
