HESPERIA – A 52-year-old transient was arrested on Friday, October 12, 2018, at around 7:30 p.m. after an assault and vandalism over Joshua Trees.
At around 7:30 p.m., deputies from the Hesperia station responded to a disturbance call in the 7100 block of Arrowhead Lake Road. When deputies arrived a short time later, they learned that Terrence Simpson made contact with three victims on top of a hill to the west of Hesperia Lakes. “Simpson was angry about the victims disturbing the Joshua Trees,” said Hesperia Sheriff’s Station Spokesman Edgar Moran. “ Simpson then threw a rock at one of the victim’s rear driver side truck window, causing damage, and then hit another victim on the left side of her face with a walking stick. The victim that was struck received redness and swelling to her left cheek.”
The damage to the truck’s window was around $800. Simpson was arrested for vandalism and assault with a deadly weapon and was booked at the High Desert Detention Center.
