HESPERIA – Hesperia woman was arrested for fraudulently collecting monetary donations last week.
On Wednesday, September 19, 2018, the Stater Bros. manager called to report that a woman was asking for donations in their parking lot in the 15700 block of Main St. in the City of Hesperia. When deputies arrived, they found Talisha Haywood in front of the Stater Bros. market asking for donations for her deceased aunt. “Through investigation, it was found that Haywood’s aunt had been deceased for over a year,” said Hesperia Sheriff’s Station Spokesman Edgar Moran. “Haywood then admitted to Deputy Pope that she was using the donation money to pay her rent.”
Haywood was arrested and was transported to the High Desert Detention Center for Theft by False Pretenses.
