HESPERIA – A would-be horse thief was stopped by vigilant neighbors in Hesperia early Saturday morning.
Just before 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2016, a male suspect entered the yard of a home located just south of Lime Street park in the City of Hesperia.
The male suspect, who entered the yard from the side, and attempted to walk out with a horse was confronted by a neighbor. The confrontation caused the suspect to release the horse and flee the scene on foot. The suspect was last seen fleeing north on Seventh Street.
A family member of the victims reached out to the Facebook group, High Desert Ranchers and Farmers hoping for information that can lead to the arrest of this man. The family describes the suspect as a Hispanic man in his late-20’s to early-30’s, with short black hair, a mustache and standing around 5’10” tall. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve plaid button up shirt, pants and possibly size 9-11 Vans shoes.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Hesperia Police Department at (760) 947-1500.
