HELENDALE – An illegal gambling ring was located in an unincorporated area of Helendale on Tuesday.
At around 3:00 p.m. as part of an ongoing investigation, detectives, and deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station served a search warrant in the 26000 block of National Trails Highway. During the search, they made contact with a female employee of the business, but the owner, Elias Waw, 39, of Victorville, was not at the location.
Several computers were located inside the business that were allegedly being used for illegal gambling, several displaying Las Vegas-type gambling games. Several items were seized from the business, which were related to the illegal gambling. No arrests have been made at this time.
