THERMAL – A 22-year-old Indio man was arrested for the murder of a woman following an arson investigation. On Saturday, March 18, 2017, at around 11:40 a.m. deputies from the Thermal Station responded to the possible arson of a mobile home in the 83500 block of Avenue 60. When they arrived the home was fully engulfed.
No residents were located at the time of the fire. Witnesses told authorities that they believed that there was a domestic violence incident between the female resident and her boyfriend prior to the fire. Christian Pacheco, 22, was detained at around 12:45 p.m. in the 51700 block of Calle Torres Orduno in Coachella.
Homicide investigators assumed the investigation and at 5:20 p.m. investigators located the female deceased in the area of 63700 Monroe Street in Thermal. Pacheco was arrested and booked on investigation of murder.
