VICTORVILLE, Calif. – The Victorville Police Department K9 Radar and his handler successfully assisted in capturing a suspect who fled from authorities.
On Wednesday, May 1, 2019, deputies from the Barstow Station and Barstow area CHP attempted to locate a pursuit suspect who abandoned a stolen vehicle and fled on foot in the area of the Harvard Road off ramp from the I-15. Raider and his handler, Deputy Higuera were asked to respond to the area to assist on tracking the suspect.
“Raider quickly acquired a scent and tracked approximately 400 yards, locating the suspect who had buried himself under some debris,” Victorville Station officials said.
Daniel Allen, 27, of Los Angeles, was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for leading officers on a pursuit, vehicle theft, obstructing a public officer, possession of a controlled substance, hit and run with property damage. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Wednesday, May 8, 2019.
