LAKE ELSINORE – A Temescal Canyon High School teacher was arrested for unlawful sex with a student who was a minor when the sexual misconduct began.
The report of the eight-month-long sexual relationship was made to the Lake Elsinore Police Department on October 25, 2018. Russell Warren Strange, 54, a Canyon Lake resident, was accused of having the illicit relationship with a student who is now an adult. The report was investigated and as a result, on Friday, November 9, 2018, Strange was contacted at Temescal Canyon High School and transported to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station for an interview.
Following the interview, Strange was arrested for unlawful sex with a minor, lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under 14-years-old, oral copulation with a minor under 16, and other charges. Strange was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center.
