BARSTOW – A 20-year-old Lenwood woman was arrested for the burglary of a home after her vehicle became stuck in a nearby riverbed last week.
On Sunday, August 19, 2018, Barstow Station deputies responded to a home in the 24500 block of State Highway 58 in Barstow for the report of a burglary. The reporting party said that the home was broken into by an unknown suspect sometime between 5:00 p.m. August 18, 2018, and 9:00 a.m. on August 19, 2018.
As the deputy approached the home, he noticed a vehicle stuck in the riverbed. He stopped to speak with the driver, identified as Brianna Branning. While speaking with her, he noticed that she had several items that belonged to the victim. Branning was arrested for burglary and possession of stolen property and was transported to the Barstow Jail. She was later booked into the Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center where she is being held in lieu of $75,000 bail.
