LUDLOW – A semi-tractor trailer burst into flames, destroying an estimated quarter of a million dollars in vehicles that it was transporting.
The incident occurred on the I-40 at around 7:20 a.m. in the unincorporated community of Ludlow, which is around 50 miles east of Barstow. The semi-tractor trailer was transporting nine vehicles, which were all destroyed as a result of the fire after a fire in the back of the semi-tractor started smoking.
The cleanup took several hours since the tires of the trailer melted and special equipment was necessary to remove it from the roadway. There were no injuries as a result of the incident.
