Man Airlifted After Getting Hit by Vehicle Remains in Critical Condition

APPLE VALLEY – A 27-year-old man remains in the hospital in critical condition following being hit by a vehicle while just after being involved in a physical altercation.

At around 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday deputies from the Apple Valley station responded to the report of a fight in the 21000 block of Highway 18 near Pawnee Road in the Town of Apple Valley. When they arrived they found a man lying in the #1 westbound lane of Highway 18. Through investigation, deputies learned that the man in the roadway was involved in the reported fight and was in the roadway when he was struck by the vehicle.

He was airlifted to Antelope Valley Hospital where he remains in critical condition. Daniel Zuniga, 18, also involved was arrested for being drunk in public and was booked into the High Desert Detention Center.
