HESPERIA – Over a month following the murder of a 26-year-old Hesperia man three people have been charged with his murder. Just after 3:45 a.m. on Friday, May 13th gunshots rang out at a Hesperia Regency apartment home on the 8500 block of C Avenue.

The male reporting party said that he was sleeping when he awoke to gunshots and heard someone running away. The man went to find out what the sound was and he found his son, Raynard Johnson on the ground in the apartment not breathing. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Homicide investigators responded to the scene to conduct an investigation. Investigators believe that the murder was a botched burglary that led to the homicide. Undisclosed Items were taken from Johnson according to the criminal complaint.

Two teen girls,  15-year-old Desiree Faye Morton and 17-year-old Tajuianna Vanice Garbutt were also arrested in connection with the murder and have been charged as adults with murder, burglary, robbery, and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Detectives are working to identify those suspects.
