Man Arrested After Attempting to Sell Marijuana to Victorville Tilted Kilt Customers

VICTORVILLE – A Fontana man was arrested after attempting to sell marijuana to customers at the Tilted Kilt restaurant in the City of Victorville. On Sunday afternoon just before 1:50 p.m. an employee at the restaurant located at 12409 Mariposa Road called Sheriff’s Dispatch to report a man who was attempting to sell marijuana to customers. The employee told the dispatcher that the suspect, later identified as 22-year-old Robert Cody Stewart was asked to leave and refused.

A deputy from the Victor Valley station made contact with Stewart and attempted to pat him down. Stewart pulled away from the deputy and as she struggled with the 6’2’ tall Stewart, he threw her to the ground. An employee stepped in to assist the deputy and she was able to deploy her taser. The Taser was proven to be ineffective for Stewart so the deputy used pepper spray to subdue Stewart to take him into custody.

Stewart was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for resisting an executive officer. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday afternoon. The deputy was injured as a result of the incident and was treated at the hospital and released.
