BARSTOW – A Deputy from the Barstow Station, concerned about the welfare of a man slumped over the wheel of a vehicle at the Barstow Food for Less approached the vehicle early Friday morning.
At around 2:40 a.m. the deputy was in the area of the Food for Less located at 580 E. Virginia Way in Barstow when he stopped at the Food for Less gas pumps to refuel. He noticed the vehicle, with the man later identified as Geoffrey Williams, 42, of Riverside slumped over the wheel. He approached the vehicle to see if the man was ill or injured and noticed a glass “meth pipe” in his hand.
He woke Williams up and detained him. While searching the vehicle he located a half-pound of marijuana, 9 grams of methamphetamine, several scales and packaging, and a quantity of federally regulated veterinary medicine. In addition to the illicit drugs, several realistic airsoft guns, explosives and cash were located. Williams was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale, transportation of methamphetamine for sale, possession of an explosive device, transportation and possession of marijuana for sale.
Williams was booked into the High Desert Detention Center with a bail of $50,000.00. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. Anyone with information about this case can call Deputy Johnnie Mamon, or Sergeant James Evans from the Barstow Sheriff Station.
