FONTANA – The mother of a 13-old-boy called Fontana Police after discovering that her son was communicating with a 42-year-old man on the smartphone app Kik.
The report was made to the Fontana Police on Sunday, September 11, 2017. According to the Fontana Police officials, the suspect made plans with the victim to meet at a local park then drive together to a motel to have sex. The mother, attempting to collect evidence against the suspect, continued messaging the suspect.
When officers arrived at the home in the 16000 block of Apple Gate Drive in the City of Fontana the victim’s mother gave the detectives the phone. The detectives continued the conversation as the victim communicating with the suspect.
Authorities obtained a warrant and discovered that the suspect was in possession of child pornography. The investigation continued and the suspect was identified and found to live in the City of Oceanside. On Thursday, January 19, 2017, Jose Delgado was arrested at his home in the 600 block of Los Arbolitos in Oceanside and booked into the West Valley Detention Center. During a search of Delgado’s home and storage unit, hundreds of images and videos containing child pornography were located. Delgado is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.
