MORENO VALLEY – Patrons at the Moreno Valley mall quickly fled from the mall on Tuesday evening after a male subject allegedly threatened to start shooting inside the Round 1 Bowling Alley. At around 7:47 p.m. Moreno Valley Police responded to the mall located at 22500 Town Circle. Officers made contact with the patrons as they exited the mall. Officers conducted a systematic search of the mall attempting to locate the suspect.
The entire mall was searched and the suspect was not located, but the mall was deemed safe for patrons and employees. No evidence of a shooting or any weapon was located inside of the mall. The mall was reopened and the mall was reopened approximately one hour later. Through further investigation, authorities learned that the suspect would be in the 22400 block of Alessandro Boulevard in the City of Moreno Valley. Officers responded and immediately arrested the suspect, identified as Eddie Jackson, a 44-year-old male from Moreno Valley. No weapons were found during any part of the investigation.
Jackson was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center and is being held without bail for making a false police report of an emergency and a violation of his state parole terms. The Moreno Valley Police Department is committed to the safety of the citizens of Moreno Valley and will be vigilant in investigating all crimes of this nature.
