VICTORVILLE, Calif. – A Las Vegas man was located in the City of Victorville in a stolen vehicle with stolen contents inside.
On July 4, 2019, a deputy from the Victorville Police Department noticed a 2019 Volvo speeding on the northbound 15 freeway near Stoddard Wells Road. The deputy stopped the vehicle and made contact with 30-year-old Sam Yassin. The deputy quickly learned that the newly purchased vehicle and the items inside did not belong to him. It was learned that Yassin burglarized a Las Vegas home on July 3, 2019, and both the vehicle and contents were stolen from the home during the burglary.
The deputy called the owner of the vehicle, and let them know that the vehicle and property had been located. The victims drove to the City of Victorville to pick up their vehicle and their property on July 6, 2019.
Yassin was arrested for the possession of a stolen vehicle was booked at the High Desert Detention Center, He will remain in custody of San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department while the case is adjudicated and will be subsequently extradited to Clark County to face residential burglary charges.
