Man Found Shot Dead in Apple Valley Home Identified

APPLE VALLEY – The man found deceased in an Apple Valley home early Wednesday morning has been identified by Sheriff’s officials as 54-year-old Apple Valley resident, Michael Anthony Brooks Jr.

Brooks was found by a friend lying on the couch in a home in the 12600 block of Apple Valley Road just before 6:40 a.m.  

Brooks was found to be suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Specialize Investigations Division-Homicide Detail through investigation, were able to determine that the gunshot wounds were not self-inflicted according to the Thursday afternoon news release
