SAN BERNARDINO – A 25-year-old San Bernardino woman was the victim of an alleged rape Thursday morning and the suspect remains at large. At around 4:30 a.m. Central Station deputies responded to the Redlands Community Hospital for the report of a rape. The victim told authorities she was walking in the area of Foothill Boulevard and Meridian Avenue when a Hispanic man who was driving an older white pickup truck stopped to talk to her.
During the brief conversation, the approximately 25-30-year-old, 5’10 bald man offered to give her a ride. The woman, who was headed to an internet cafe accepted his offer and got into the vehicle. The suspect began driving in the opposite direction and according to authorities the victim asked to get out of the truck several times.
The victim was then struck several times while the suspect drove on Riverside Avenue toward the I-15. Authorities said that the suspect then drove to a secluded lot off the Cajon Pass where he raped the victim. He then took the victim to Rialto, where he dropped her off at a fast food restaurant.
