CAJON PASS – A 25-year-old Ontario man lost his life after getting out of his 2005 Scion following a traffic collision on the 15 freeway early Sunday morning.
At around 2:34 a.m. the California Highway Patrol responded to the report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on the I-15 south of Cleghorn Road. When they arrived that learned that Terry Blackwell, of Victorville, was driving a 2007 Ford F-350 when he saw a man in the lanes of traffic.
Blackwell attempted to swerve to miss the man but was unable to avoid the collision. He lost control causing him to hit the Scion, which was involved in the previous collision. The 25-year-old Ontario man, whose name is being withheld at this time was pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision remains under investigation, fog, and rain may have contributed to one or both collisions. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Officer McAllister at (909)383-4247.
