The trailer was carrying non-hazardous cargo and the driver was out of the vehicle at the time of the fire. Crews went into attack mode knocking down the fire within around 15 minutes and prevented any spread to nearby vegetation.
San Bernardino County Fire officials said that the closure was a result of low visibility due to smoke from the fire. Lanes were reopened shortly after while crews continued working on mop up. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
