VICTORVILLE – The Hesperia man who sprayed his wife in the face with air freshener, then physically assaulted her was convicted and sentenced according to court records.
On May 15, 2018, at around 3:30 p.m Wagner was involved in a verbal altercation with his wife at their Hesperia home in the 14300 block of Pinewood Drive. His wife sustained minor injuries are a result of the attack and declined medical treatment.
On Monday, July 16, 2018, Richmond Wagner, 31, pleaded no contest to spousal abuse at the Victorville Superior Court. As a result of the plea deal, the charges of assault with a caustic chemical and the warrant for a past stalking case were dropped.
Wagner was sentenced to 1 year in county jail, and was credited for 64 days of time served. He will be required to serve half of the remainder of the sentence, leaving him with approximately five months. Wagner will also be required to attend Anger Management classes and will be on probation for 3 years.
