RIVERSIDE – A man was struck by a train while apparently attempting to end his life Saturday evening.
Shortly before 5:20 p.m. the City of Riverside Fire Department and Police responded to the report of the male pedestrian who was struck by a BNSF train. The incident occurred at Third Street when the unidentified man, according to the BNSF crew ran out in front of the westbound train and laid down in front of the moving train.
The patient was removed from under the train and was taken to a trauma hospital in critical condition.
