HIGHLAND – A 24-year-old man sustained burn injuries in a residential fire in the 26900 block of Fisher Street in the City of Highland. Deputies and the Highland Fire Department responded to the home to find the front portion of the home burning and the man, identified as Gustavo Lopez Felix on the ground in the front yard suffering from 2nd and 3rd-degree burns.
Fire investigators were called to the scene when the fire was extinguished. During the investigation the investigators located evidence of an illegal drug lab inside one of the rooms of the home. The discovery led to Bomb and Arson detectives, as well as narcotics detectives to respond to the home to assist in the investigation. Lopez was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment of his burns.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff officials said that arrests are pending.
