HEMET – A Menifee man was arrested on Friday for breaking out windows of several Hemet area businesses. On June 4, 2017, officers from the Hemet Police Department received multiple reports from numerous businesses indicating their windows were broken out. The total loss was estimated at $30,000. Being that all these incidents took place in the same general area on the same night, officers knew the vandalism was the work of the same suspect(s).
The investigation into the incident resulted in the identification of the suspect. On Friday, June 9, 2017, Hemet Police served a search warrant to the suspect home in the 29000 block of Escalante Road in the City of Menifee. Malachy Francois, 34, was arrested for four counts of vandalism. During the search officers also located evidence connecting Francois to the crimes.
If anyone has information related to these or any additional incidents they are encouraged to contact the Hemet Police Department’s Investigations Bureau.
