VICTORVILLE– A Licensed Marriage & Family Counselor was arrested for sexually assaulting a mentally disabled female client. The client who also suffered from other medical conditions suffered Digital Penetration with a Foreign Object by the mental health professional.
On December 29, 2016, Gregory Harmeling age 45, of Victorville was arrested on the 15000 block of 7th Street on suspicion of Digital Penetration with a Foreign Object of a developmentally disabled adult female. From an incident which occurred earlier in December of 2016. The Adult Female stated to investigators that on the second counseling session she attended at Harmeling’s Victorville offices, during the session Harmeling sat next to her and begin to brush her hair. He then began to touch the adult female in an inappropriate way and proceeded to lock his office door, so she would not be able to leave his office. Harmeling pushed the adult female on her back, got on top of her and started to sexually assault her. The adult female told Harmeling that she did not want to be touched this way, but Harmeling continued to touch her for several more minutes.
Investigators from the Victorville Police Department gathered evidence supporting the mentally disabled adult females statement of events and Gregory Harmeling was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center.
