A tractor-trailer combination full of citrus fruit overturned in the open desert on the eastbound SR-58, west of Barstow on Thursday. At around 12:06 p.m. the Barstow area CHP officers were dispatched to the single vehicle collision. Through investigation, CHP officers learned that a male adult was driving the tractor-trailer combination eastbound on SR-58, east of Harper Dry Lake Road.
For reasons that remain under investigation, the tractor-trailer combination vehicle drifted to the right and overturned in the open desert south of the roadway. A load of fruit spilled out of the overturned vehicle. No one was injured and drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the collision. The collision remains under investigation by the Barstow area CHP.
