SAN BERNARDINO – A 25-year-old Sacramento man was arrested for pimping a 17-year-old missing Sacramento girl in San Bernardino officials said.

On Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at around 4:00 p.m. San Bernardino Police located a girl loitering in the area near 5th and G Street. Officers made contact with the girl who was learned to be a missing person out of Sacramento. Officers requested assistance from the San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force regarding the juvenile who they believed to be involved in prostitution. The teen was transported to the police station to meet with investigators. Investigators learned that the victim traveled to San Bernardino with a male adult.

After further investigation, Daniel Thomas was identified as one of the suspects. Thomas was found walking with another man along 5th Street. Both men were detained for questioning. When the questioning concluded, the second man was released due to his lack of involvement. Authorities said that Thomas knew that the teen worked as a prostitute and helped her secure a room at a local motel. Thomas was booked into the Central Detention Center for Human Trafficking of a Minor and is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail. The victim was rescued, provided services and released into the custody of CFS for safe return to her family.

The San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force is made up of investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office, San Bernardino Police Department, Ontario Police Department, San Bernardino Unified School District Police, California State Parole, Office of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
